Goodbye Gossip Girl
... see you on January 24. Yes, you've read right: JANUARY 24! That's how long the TV gods make us wait for a new episode of Gossip Girl. The only thing that's worse than seven weeks of winterbreak is three months of summerbreak. But being that the year has 52 weeks, and an average TV show season has only about 24 episodes, this is what we have to endure. Last night's midseason finale gave some closure on the crazy-Juliet-trying-to-kill-Serena storyline, but while closing that door, it opened up about one million other windows! How will Chuck and Serena save Bass Industries? Will Nate be screwed over by his dad- again? Is Ben returning to Gossip Girl and should we care? BLAIR AND DAN??? It has taken less to drive a person crazy, so before you go completely insane, consider these options to keep you busy until Gossip Girl returns:Watch the DVDs This is the most obvious choice. When there's no new material available, why not go through three previous seasons of awesomeness? You have 49 days to re-watch how it all began, got awesome, got a little less awesome, and returned back to old glory. For the latter, season four episodes are available on a pay-per-episode basis at amazon on demand and iTunes for example.
Read the recaps Websites like televisionwithoutpity and the Gossip Girl section of NY Mag offer great fun in the form of detailed recaptures of each episode and a reality index, respectively. Even if you've seen all the episodes, this is great fun.
Finally get some school work done ... spend time with your bf, clean your appartment- there are so many things to do now that you have that extra time off Monday nights!
